You Don’t Have to be Her

Hey sis,

Let’s talk about her for a minute.

You know the one. She shows up early, never forgets a birthday, and her kitchen towel actually matches her dish soap bottle. She's the kind of woman who makes homemade bread and still manages to fold laundry the same day it comes out of the dryer. Meanwhile, you’re re-boiling your coffee for the third time and wondering if matching socks are even a thing anymore.

Yeah… I’ve been there too.

But can I lovingly remind you of something today?

You don’t have to be her.

You only have to be you. The one God handcrafted on purpose, for purpose.

Somewhere along the way, we started believing this quiet little lie:
"If I could just be more like her… then I’d be enough."

But here’s the truth: comparison is a thief. It robs you of confidence, peace, and the joy of living your own beautiful story. It makes you question what God already called good.

Psalm 139:14 says,

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

That “marvellous work” is you, sis. Not the version of you pretending to be someone else. Not the polished, filtered, Pinterest-perfect version.
The real you. Mess and all.

God doesn’t recycle purpose. He doesn’t clone callings.
What He placed inside her isn’t meant to make you feel less than - it’s meant to inspire, not intimidate.

Your story, your voice, your giftings, your testimony - they matter.
You were made for your season, your circle, and your assignment.

And friend, when you stop trying to be her, you get to fully embrace Him - the One who created you with intention.

What if instead of comparing, we celebrated?
What if we traded jealousy for joy and insecurity for identity?

She can make the best sourdough, and you can pray heaven down like nobody’s business.
She can run the PTA, and you can run a women’s Bible study from your kitchen table.
She can thrive in her lane, and you can flourish in yours.

It’s not a competition - it’s a calling.
And God never asked you to be her. He’s simply asking you to be available, faithful, and fully YOU.

Take a few moments today and reflect on this question:

What area of your life do you most often compare to others? What truth from God’s Word can you replace that thought with?

Sis, if you’ve been looking at someone else’s life and feeling like you’re falling short - breathe. You are not behind. You are not less than. You are not forgotten.

You are His. And that is enough.

Cheering for you as you walk boldly in your lane,
🤍 Lynn
