Hope in the Waiting — and in the Transition

Hey sweet friends.

Let’s talk about seasons - again.
And I know, I’ve said that word a lot lately.
But it keeps coming up, and not just from me. I’ve had so many conversations lately where someone else brings up the idea of seasons - what season they’re in, what they just came through, or what they’re waiting on God for.

And I’ve learned to pay attention when a theme keeps showing up. That usually means the Lord is trying to teach us something.

Seasons are a natural part of life.
For trees, for flowers - and for us.
We have blooming seasons. Shedding seasons. Pruning seasons. Waiting seasons.
And whether they feel joyful or painful, they all serve a purpose.

As life moves forward, it changes.
People come. People go.
Kids grow up. Jobs shift. Responsibilities change.
And suddenly, we can find ourselves in unfamiliar territory - wondering, what now?

My brother recently retired from the Army National Guard, and after years of serving, he looked at me and said, “I don’t know who I am now.”
That hit me hard.
Because how many of us have felt that way?

A child moves out. A job ends. A ministry role shifts.
And you’re left wondering who you are without what used to define your days.
And listen - those feelings are valid. Even when we know God is still in control, we can still feel disoriented or even a little lost.

But it was during one of my bible study devotions that I came across Psalm 130.

Verse 5 says:
“I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.”

Y’all, I read that verse and it stopped me in my tracks.
I read it again.
And again.
And I just sat there, thinking, “Lord, You’re speaking to me right now.”

David wasn’t just casually waiting. He said his soul was waiting.
Everything in him was in that season of “not yet.”
And what kept him going?
Hope - in God’s Word.

David had enemies. He had fears. He had years of hiding and running before the promise of kingship ever came to pass.
But he knew where to turn.
He didn’t just white-knuckle his way through.
He leaned into the promises of God.

God’s Word sustained David - and it will sustain us too.

Because let’s be honest - it’s easy to have faith in the blooming seasons.
But in the shedding, the pruning, or the waiting? That’s where the real trust comes in.

And friend, as we close out another beautiful year of Godly Gals, I want to leave you with this truth: God is just as present in the pause as He is in the promise.

We’ve walked through so much together this year - growing in the Word, worshiping together, digging into community, and discovering our purpose.
And now we’re heading into our summer break. A new rhythm. A shift in our routine.

Some of you will feel that change deeply.
You might miss this time together. You might feel like you’re in a bit of a waiting room.
But I want to encourage you: Let this break be a sacred pause. Not a step back. Not a detour. But a moment to breathe, reflect, and realign.

And here’s my challenge to you:
Don’t wait until August to open your Bible.
Don’t wait until we’re back together to press into God’s presence.
Let His Word be your daily bread - your lifeline - this summer.

If you find yourself asking, “What now, Lord?”
Run to the Word.
If you feel dry, distant, or unsure - run to the Word.
And if everything’s going great and life is blooming - still, run to the Word.

Because come August, we’re coming back.
And I believe with everything in me that God is going to do something new in our Godly Gals family.
New hearts. New strength. New callings.
But what you do in the waiting… in this break… it matters.

So here’s what I’ll leave you with:

Keep your head up.
Lift your eyes to Jesus.
Stay in His Word.
And know that no matter what season you are in—He is your hope in the middle of it.

I love you, and I’m so grateful we’ve walked this year together.
Now go into this break refreshed, expectant, and anchored in truth.

We’ll be back in August - and I believe we’re just getting started.
