When God Presses Pause
We live in a world that celebrates progress — fast answers, next steps, and forward motion. But what about the moments when everything stops? When doors you thought would open stay closed, or when prayers hang in the air unanswered?
Those seasons can feel like punishment, but sis, sometimes they’re God’s way of preparing you for what’s next. The pause is not the problem — it’s the process.
When Waiting Feels Like Wasting
It’s easy to feel overlooked when life slows down. You watch others step into their callings, while you’re stuck wondering if God has forgotten you. But Scripture reminds us that even in the waiting, He’s still working.
David knew this feeling well. Anointed as king long before he wore a crown, David spent years tending sheep and dodging spears. Yet those hidden seasons weren’t wasted — they built his character, his humility, and his dependence on God.
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
(Psalm 27:14 KJV)
Waiting isn’t passive — it’s an act of trust. It’s choosing to believe that what feels like a delay is really divine development.
God’s Pause Has Purpose
When God presses pause, He isn’t saying no — He’s often saying not yet. He may be protecting you from stepping into something too soon or refining what’s within you so that when the next door opens, you’ll be ready to walk through it.
Think of Joseph. Betrayed, forgotten, and imprisoned, his life didn’t seem to match the dreams God had shown him. But when the time was right, every moment of waiting became part of God’s perfect plan.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
(Habakkuk 2:3 KJV)
There is an appointed time for every promise, every purpose, and every calling. Your timeline isn’t off course — it’s being aligned.
What to Do in the Pause
Stay faithful where you are.
Keep serving, praying, and showing up — even when no one sees. God does some of His best work in the unseen places.Guard your heart against comparison.
Someone else’s now doesn’t mean your never. Rejoice with those who are rejoicing and trust that your moment will come.Let peace replace pressure.
When you feel like you need to make something happen, take a breath and remember: if God started it, He will sustain it.
The Pause Prepares the Promise
Sometimes the pause is where your faith becomes real. It’s where trust grows roots and worship deepens. Don’t rush what God is using to refine you.
If you’re in a waiting season today, hold on to this truth: your story isn’t stuck — it’s being written.
God hasn’t forgotten you. He’s forming you.
So let’s stop fighting the pause and start trusting the process. The God who began the work will finish it — right on time.
I’m in this with you,
Lynn 🤍
